
Sky Searching for Second Home Win

Chicago Sky News Release
After a loss to the San Antonio Silver Stars last weekend, the Chicago Sky (2-14) return home on Friday as they face off against the New York Liberty (4-11) for the first time this season. The Liberty's Becky Hammon, a 7-year WNBA veteran who was recently named a starter on the 2006 WNBA All-Star East team, leads the Liberty with 15.4 PPG and ranks #1 in the WNBA in free-throw percentage (0.946). The Sky's second victory and first home win was scored on June 29 when they beat the Charlotte Sting 75-69. Candice Dupree led the team with 15 points, followed by Jia Perkins' 10 points.

Brooke Wyckoff- Fractured right thumb, out 6-8 weeks
Stacey Dales- Right knee bone bruise, returned to practice this week and is on day-to-day basis.
Mystic Wonders
The Sky will also meet for the first time this season the Washington Mystics (9-9) on July 9 in Washington and July 16 at home. Stacey Dales, who is currently out with a right knee bone bruise, was a first-round draft pick for the Mystics in 2002; Dales she retired from the WNBA in 2005 and came out of retirement this season to play for the Sky.
All-Star Break
The All-Star Break takes place July 11-13. The 2006 WNBA All-Star Game will be played at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, July 12 and will be nationally televised on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. http://www.wnba.com/allstar2006/starter_release_as06.html.
