Sky Overseas + Offseason Updates: Rundown No. 24

CHICAGO - Three Chicago Sky players have completed domestic or overseas play this offseason. Below are the listed players, their respective teams, league and country.
Seasons concluded:
Marina Mabrey - CBK Mersin Yenisehir Belediyesi (Turkey-KBSL, Turkey)
Elizabeth Williams - CBK Mersin Yenisehir Belediyesi (Turkey-KBSL, Turkey)
Dana Evans - Beşiktaş JK Istanbul (Turkey-KBSL, Turkey)
Dana Evans and Beşiktaş fell to the London Lions in the EuroCup final, losing 70-81. Evans scored a team-high 17 points and led both teams in assists (eight) and steals (four). With the loss, Beşiktaş' aggregate score totaled 145-149 and thus, lost the final.
Evans finished the season averaging 23.0 points, 6.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 27 Turkish League games. She shot 36.7% from beyond the arc while taking 7.3 attempts per game. She helped lead Beşiktaş to a second-place finish in the Turkish League standings and to the Turkish semifinals.
In 16 EuroCup games, she averaged 22.6 points, 5.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals. Evans helped Beşiktaş to first in EuroCup's Group E standings and the team finished as EuroCup runner-ups. She scored a season-high 36 points to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists on Oct. 11. Evans finished the overseas season by averaging 22.8 points in 43 total games.
Marina Mabrey and Mersin fell to Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague semifinal 80-89 and lost to USK Praha 67-95 in the third-place game. In the game against Fenerbahce, Mabrey recorded 12 points and a game-leading eight assists and four rebounds. In the following game, she led all players in assists with six.
Mabrey, Elizabeth Williams and Mersin lost to Fenerbahce in the third game of the Turkish League final, losing the series. In that game, Mabrey scored 12 points and added three rebounds and a team-leading six assists. Williams recorded nine points while leading the team in rebounds (13) and steals (two), along with leading all players in blocks with two.
Mabrey averaged 19.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 42.4% from the floor and 35.8% from three on 8.2 attempts per game in 25 Turkish games. She scored a season-high 36 points on Jan. 20 against Nesibe. Mabrey scored 30 or more points three times this season. She had a season-high 14 assists on March 6 against Zaragoza.
In 18 EuroLeague games, Mabrey averaged 17.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 steals. She shot 36.9% from three on 6.8 attempts per game.
Williams finished the season averaging 13.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 steals in 28 Turkish League games. She shot 52.5% from the field. In 13 EuroLeague games, Williams averaged 12.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.8 steals.
She recorded a season-high 30 points on Jan. 2 against Galatasaray. Williams had a season-high 18 rebounds on Jan. 20 and finished the season with nine double-doubles. She had 19 games with multiple blocks, including a season-high six (twice) and had 20 games with multiple steals, including a season-high five on Feb. 24 against Cankaya.
Mabrey and Williams helped lead Mersin to a 17-11 record in Turkish League play and helped the team finish as league runner ups. Additionally, the duo helped lead Mersin to a 9-5 record in EuroLeague and to a semifinal berth.
Chicago Sky players currently under contract went 112-89 (.557 win percentage) in overseas or international play with their teams this season.
