Chicago Sky News Release
Chicago Sky trio performed at a lofty level amongst the league's best at the 2009 WNBA All-Star Game at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Once the West had the game in hand, Sky center and Eastern Conference starter Sylvia Fowles punctuated the game with a right-handed dunk as the clock wound down. The one-handed throwdown made the final score 130-118 in favor of the West.
Sylvia Fowles
Fowles led the East with 17 points, her loudest two being her final two. Fowles shot 8-of-12 from the field, one of those misses being her first attempt at the dunk. Fowles also brought in five rebounds, three coming on the offensive end.
Jia Perkins
Coming off the bench is something new for Perkins this season. Shooting the lights out isn't. Perkins score 16 points in 19 minutes. She shot 7-of-11 from the field and made 2-of-4 three point attempts.
Perkins has routinely filled every column on the stat sheet this season and Saturday was no different. She also had four steals, five assists and three rebounds.
Candice Dupree
Dupree has been the moon in Chicago's sky this season. She shows up every night, and when there aren't too many clouds she can light it up.
Dupree showed it Saturday night with 12 points and six rebounds. Dupree sunk 1-of-2 three point attempts, a new wrinkle she's added to her game this season to take it up yet another level.
