
Skeeters' Wright Silences Riversharks, Improves to 8-0 in 5-1 Win

Matt Wright pitched eight solid innings of one-run ball, scattering just four hits, as the Skeeters cruised to a 5-1 win over the Camden Riversharks Saturday Night. Matt Wright becomes the Atlantic League's first eight-game winner and is now 8-0 on the season.
Kevin Rios, subbing for Josh Pressley, who left with an injury during his first at bat, drove in the first run to give the Skeeters a 1-0 lead. In the fourth, Camden starter Josh Walter hit Adam Godwin with the bases loaded to drive home Russ Mitchell, making it 2-0. Jeff Dominguez also drove in a pair of runs on singles in the fourth and sixth innings. Both teams exchanged runs the eighth inning, then closer Jason Bergmann pitched a perfect ninth inning to finish off the 5-1 victory.
Up Next: The Skeeters meet the Riversharks in the finale of their six-game series; Sunday at 6:05 p.m. Skeeters RHP Scott Elarton (3-4, 4.27 ERA) will take the mound against Camden's RHP Armando Gabino (2-3, 3.06 ERA). Sunday will feature Father's Day pre-game autographs and Catch on the Field, plus a Remote Control Dig on the infield after the game, presented by Best Buy. The winner will receive a 46" flat-screen TV.
