SUGAR LAND, TX - The Sugar Land Skeeters announced today that the club will host the first annual Skeeters Hot Stove Banquet, sponsored by Any Occasion Party Rental and Aztec Rental, on Thursday, February 21 from 7-9 p.m. at Constellation Field. With baseball right around the corner and in preparation for the Skeeters exciting upcoming 2013 season, fans are invited to partake in this special night of dinner and baseball talk among Houston and Sugar Land's finest.
Leading a panel of guest speakers will be Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti, as well as long-time Houston icons Larry Dierker and Bob Watson. Sugar Land resident and former Astros broadcaster Brett Dolan will serve as emcee for the event and host other baseball greats for good, old-fashioned baseball talk. Dinner attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a look back at a responsive, inaugural season for Sugar Land, as well as delve into Houston baseball history. Following the panel discussions, all attendees will be encouraged to participate in a question and answer session with the panelists.
"I think we're going to have a lot of good stories to talk about," said Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti. "For me, next season can't get here soon enough. I can't wait to get back out there with the guys. So, I know we're all going to enjoy the chance to talk baseball, talk about next season and interact with our fans."
As a part of the evening, a special VIP reception will be held prior to the dinner, beginning at 6 p.m., and will feature a meet and greet with the banquet panel guests. A limited number of tickets are available for the VIP reception and dinner, which are priced at $100 each. Individual tickets for the dinner only can be purchased for $75. Tables of 10 are also available for the dinner listed at $750, with VIP ticket tables of 10 priced at $1,000. All dinner tickets, VIP tickets and tables will be available for reservation beginning Monday, January 21.
"This dinner is really about coming together and getting back into the baseball spirit," said Skeeters President Matt O'Brien. "We're going to have a lot of fun with it and hear from some different baseball manager perspectives. We also want to make this an annual event that our fans can look forward to, so we're very excited to kick off the first one."
