Skeeters Take Tough Loss To Blue Crabs In 15 Inning Game

WALDORF, MD - The Sugar Land Skeeters suffered a heartbreaker Thursday night against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, taking a 3-2 loss on a walk-off in the 15th inning. The Skeeters are now three games back of York for 1st place in the Freedom Division with three games left to play.

Jake Hale had another productive outing for the Skeeters as the right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits with a strikeout and a walk. His counterpart in Daryl Thompson had a solid night as well, going 6 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts.

Josh Prince opened up the scoring with a solo shot in the 3rd that would extend his hitting-streak to eight consecutive games and put the Skeeters up 1-0. Travis Scott cranked his 10th home run of the season the next inning to put the Skeeters up 2-0. The Blue Crabs tied the game back up in the 6th with D'Arby Myers' infield single that would bring home Norberto Susini and Bryant Nelson's sac-fly that would score Eric Garcia.

It was all zeros from the 6th inning on until D'Arby Myers' walk-off single off of Brett Marshall in the bottom of the 15th sealed the victory for Southern Maryland.
