Skeeters Sweep Barnstormers with 8-1 Win

On Thursday, Independence Day, there were fireworks during and after the game, as the Skeeters complete a three-game sweep of the Barnstormers, in an 8-1 win. A Travis Scott homer, a Kevin Rios RBI single and Aaron Bates RBI single, gave Sugar Land a 3-0 lead after three. In this game both Barnstormers Manager Butch Hobson and Skeeters All-Star Centerfielder Adam Godwin were thrown out, as the benches cleared. Former Astro Daryle Ward then homered off of Skeeters lefty and former Astro Jason Lane and it was 3-1 after six. The Skeeters landed a knockout blow in the ninth, as they score five times in the victory.

Up Next : On Friday in game one of a three-game series against the Blue Crabs, Sugar Land sends out All-Star RHP Matt Wright (9-1, 2.84) vs. LHP Michael Ballard (5-4, 4.03) for Southern Maryland.
