Skeeters Open Seven-Game Home Series vs. Lancaster with First-Half Title in Balance

SUGAR LAND, TX- The Sugar Land Skeeters welcome the Lancaster Barnstormers to Constellation Field for a seven-game series starting Monday, June 25, with the first-place Barnstormers leading the Skeeters by 1 1/2 games in the Freedom Division with 10 games to play in the first half.

The Skeeters are seeking their first first-half title since 2013 and their first postseason berth since 2016 when they won the Atlantic League Championship. The following scenarios exist for the Skeeters to clinch a first-half postseason berth:

SCENARIOS:

- If the Skeeters win five of the seven games, the Skeeters would head to York for their final series of the first half (three games) with a magic number of two.

- If the Skeeters win six or more of the seven games, the Skeeters clinch the first-half title this week.

- If Lancaster wins five or more of the seven games, they clinch the first half.

- If Lancaster wins four of the seven, they will head home for four games vs. the Road Warriors with a magic number of one.

- If the Skeeters win four of the seven games, the Skeeters would win the first half under the following combinations the next week:

o Skeeters 3-0 vs. York; Lancaster 3-1 or worse against the Road Warriors

o Skeeters 2-1 vs. York; Lancaster 2-2 or worse against the Road Warriors

o Skeeters 1-2 vs. York, Lancaster 0-4 against the Road Warriors
