Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
The Skeeters fought hard but could not overcome three Patriots' long balls, as they fell 6-5 in Game One of the Freedom Division Series. Somerset's Jeff Baisley put the first run on the board with a solo home run in the top of the second inning. The Skeeters would tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third on an RBI single from Travis Scott. Then, Steve Moss put the Skeeters ahead, 3-1, in the fourth on a two-run homer.
That is when the Patriots rallied, putting up five more runs, including two home runs from Corey Aldridge. The Skeeters put up a fight, cutting the lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth. With the bases loaded and two outs, Ryan Langerhans struck out to end the threat. The Skeeters put one man on in the bottom of the ninth, but could not push the tying run across.
