Skeeters Fall 11-7 to Revs After Seven Run Ninth

SUGAR LAND, TEXAS - The Sugar Land Skeeters fell to the York Revolution 11-7 Sunday night after the bullpen struggled through a seven-run 9th inning. The Skeeters are now 10-8 in the second half and a game up on York Revolution for 1st place in the Freedom Division.

The Revolution got to Jake Hale early with two quick runs in the top of the 1st beginning with Brandon Chaves' double that would score Jared Mitchell. Andres Perez followed with an RBI single that brought home Chaves to put York up 2-0.

The Skeeters got a run back in the bottom half of the inning on Ricky Hague's double that would push Delwyn Young across, making it 2-1. Jeremy Barfield tied the game up in the 2nd on a solo shot to left. Rene Tosoni's RBI single scored Beamer Weems to give the Skeeters a 3-2 lead.

The Revolution struck back in the 4th when Michael Rockett drove home Kevin Rivers, tying the game at 3-3. Rivers put the Revolution back up 4-3 in the 5th on a single that would score Brandon Chaves. Ricky Hague would respond in the 7th, putting the Skeeters back on top 5-4 with his two-run double.

Two errors by the Revolution in the 8th would give the Skeeters two more runs, making it 7-4. Derrick Loop and Dan Runzler would combine to allow seven runs in the 9th as the Revolution would pull ahead 11-7. Loop's blown save was his 2nd of the season.
