
Skeeters Add Big League Arm to Starting Rotation

SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters and manager Gary Gaetti announced the signing of right-hander, Brett Marshall to the starting rotation for the final homestand of the 2015 season. Marshall spent part of the 2013 season with the New York Yankees and hails from nearby Baytown. He is slated to make his Skeeters debut this evening against the Camden Riversharks.
Marshall, 25, was drafted by the Yankees in the sixth-round of the 2008 draft out of Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown before quickly climbing the ladder to reach the MLB level in 2013. He owns a 43-49 career record with a 4.30 ERA in eight seasons. While in New York, he did not earn a decision in three appearances with the Bronx Bombers with a 4.50 ERA over 12.0 innings. Most recently, he pitched for the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League, going 5-3 with a 3.15 ERA in eight games.
The Skeeters continue the 2015 campaign against Camden this evening at the friendly confines of Constellation Field. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6.
