Sporting Kansas City II News Release
Sporting Kansas City II (4-19-8, 20 points) concludes their 2021 USL Championship campaign Saturday against Pacific Division side Oakland Roots SC (10-13-8, 38 points) at Laney College Football Stadium. The contest will kick off at 9 p.m. CT and stream live on ESPN Plus. This is the first-ever matchup between these two teams.
Fourth-year head coach and former Sporting Kansas City midfielder Paul Nagamura has Sporting Kansas City II looking to end the season on a high note. Enoch Mushagalusa (eight goals, four assists) has been an offensive force for SKC II and will look to put a bow on his superb season.
Mushagalusa's eight goals paces the team and is followed by rookie Rojay Smith's five goals and Sporting KC Academy product Ozzie Cisneros' three goals. Fellow Sporting KC loanee Jake Davis leads the team with six assists on the season. Mushagalusa also ranks second on the team in assists with four.
Under the tutelage of head coach Jordan Ferrell in their inaugural USL Championship season, Oakland Roots enter the weekend in the heat of a playoff battle. Just one point back of LA Galaxy II in the Pacific Division standings and with only one game to play, Oakland needs to collect all three points and LA Galaxy II to drop points. Jeremy Bokila leads the Roots in goals scored with five, while Lindo Mfeka leads the team with four assists.
