Bismarck Bobcats News Release
The Bismarck Bobcats (13-8-1, 27 points) won their sixth consecutive game on the road Saturday night beating the North Iowa Outlaws (9-9-2, 20 points) 3-1 in Mason City, Iowa. With the Bobcats winning back-to-back against North Iowa, both Friday night (5-4) and Saturday night, the Bobcats find themselves a single point out of first place in the Central Division.
In the first period, Cody Keefer and Jordan Singer got things going for Bismarck. With less than 13 minutes to play in the period, Keefer came into the Outlaw zone feeding a slick pass to Singer in the slot who put the puck in on the backhand shot opening the score 1-0.
Following the goal, the Bobcats would not waste time scoring again, 31 seconds later. It was John Wickman wrapping around the net, coming out to the left circle and snapping the shot into the net increasing the lead 2-0.
The Bobcats would take a 2-0 lead into the third period. However, 22 seconds into the final period, North Iowa's Jack Paul would score for the Outlaws making it a one goal game.
With the Bobcats needing some insurance, Tim Serratore would deliver with a beautiful move entering the attack zone and scoring his first goal of the season making the final 3-1.
Bobcat goalie Matt Grogan (3-3-0) ended up with 25 saves on 26 shots in the win.
Outlaw goalie Keegan Asmundson (1-4-0) made 20 saves on 23 shots receiving the loss.
On the powerplay, the Bobcats were 0-6, while the Outlaws were 0-3 with the man-advantage.
