
Jr. Blues Look For Revenge Tonight After Friday Night OT Loss

With 20 seconds left in the game and what seemed to be a sure win for the Springfield Jr. Blues, the Wichita Falls Wildcats scored to send the game into overtime. After a scoreless overtime period, the Wildcats won it in a shootout.
Trent Frey(Nick Curry,Jarrett Galbreath, Derrick Kimbro(penalty shot) and Austin Coldwell(Jon Gaffney, Jack Callahan-power play) scored for the Blues. Brian Post was the lone shootout goal-scorer for the Blues. Goaltender C.J. Groh played exceptionally well in the net for the Blues, making several key saves late in the game. Springfield went 1 for 11 on the power play and failed to capitalize on several key scoring opportunities. The Blues outshot the Wildcats 37-25.
The two teams battle again tonight at the Nelson Center at 7:30pm.
