Stockton, Calif. - The Ray Morgan Company Painted Classic was again a huge success for Stockton Thunder fans, but the team end up dropping their final contest of the calendar year as the Ontario Reign defeat the Thunder 4-3 Wednesday night at Stockton Arena. Quotes

"It's a little tough at the beginning but at least for me, once I was through my first shift it wasn't really a factor." - Adam Phillips on playing on the painted ice

"At first it was tough. It's something you're not used to and it's a little tough on the eyes but you get used to it." - Shane Owen on his perspective on the ice from the net

"You have to battle hard for 60 minutes. I thought the team played pretty well. I was disappointed in myself there at the end. I thought I should have had those two saves. I had to give the team a better chance but it is what it is." - Owen on his assessment of the game

"It was a little frustrating in the warm-ups, but once your eyes got adjusted it wasn't too difficult." - John Ryder on playing on the painted ice

"I don't think the stats reflected how well we played. We had a couple good kills tonight and it's tough to allow two goals on those kills." - Ryder on the penalty kill's performance tonight

"It's frustrating. We played such a different game when we were down a goal versus when we were up a goal or two. There goalie was good but it shouldn't have gotten to that point." - Head Coach Rich Kromm on his assessment of tonight's game

"They were coming hard at us late in the second and early in the third and we just didn't respond with smart play. Simple things that need to be done when you hold a lead just weren't getting done." - Coach Kromm on giving up momentum twice in the game

"Both teams had to play on the ice. It's obviously an exciting thing for the fans and now it's a trademark for Stockton so it's something that is a lot of fun for the fans." - Coach Kromm on the painted ice
