Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - Corey Simpson hit a two-out, two-RBI single to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth for the AquaSox, but Salem-Keizer tacked one on in the 10th to take a 3-2 win over the Frogs on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Alex Jackson and Luis Liberato went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run in the loss and were the only AquaSox, other than Simpson, to register a hit. Drew Jackson extended his home on-base streak to 16 games on a walk, but his batting average fell to .391 with an 0-for-4 outing.
Alex Jackson walked and Liberato singled to put runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth. Arturo Nieto pinch hit and used a sac bunt to move up the runners to second and third with one out. Yojhan Quevedo grounded out to keep the runners in scoring position, bringing up Corey Simpson to pinch-hit for P.J. Jones.
Simpson singled on a ground ball between the third baseman and shortstop to bring home both Liberato and Jackson and tie the game at 2-all.
Anthony Misiewicz threw four innings and allowed three hits, one earned run and no walks while striking out four for the Frogs. Andrew Moore scattered four hits in three innings with five strikeouts, no walks and no runs.
