San Angelo Colts News Release

Edinburg, Texas---After winning a close one in the first game of the series, the Colts left no doubt in a game two win on Wednesday. The Colts used five homeruns, two each by Daryl Jones and Landon Camp, as well as one by Danny Hernandez to cruise to victory. At the same time San Angelo set a new single season team homerun record. Adam Kramer also had his best start of the year, as the Colts won 11-4.

San Angelo would score four before the Roadrunners even batted on an RBI single by Daryl Jones and a three-run homer by Landon Camp (13), to go up 4-0. Edinburg would also use the long ball as C.J. Beatty (11) hit a solo shot to make it 4-1 after one. The Colts scored a pair in the top of the second, as Daryl Jones (23) hit a two-run homer, to give the Colts a 6-1 lead. The homer also tied the Colts single season team homerun record of 123, set last season.

The Roadrunners scored three in the bottom of the fourth on RBI singles by Osiel Flores and Gabe Memmert. Edinburg would add another on an RBI triple by Robert Matlock to get back into the game at 6-4, but that would be as close as they would get. San Angelo scored three of their own in the seventh as Landon Camp (14) homered for the second time in the game. His solo shot broke the Colts single season team homerun record, which now stands at 124. Later that inning Danny Hernandez (6) hit a two-run shot and San Angelo lead 9-4. The Colts added solo runs in the eighth and ninth, as Daryl Jones (24) hit his second homerun of the game that made it 10-4. It also pulled him to within one of the Colts single season individual homerun mark. Ronnie Gaines added an RBI single that made it 11-4, which would be the final. Adam Kramer had his best start of the year, going seven innings, allowing eight hits, four runs, did not walk a batter and struck out three.

Colts and Roadrunners go at it again in game three of this four game series on Thursday. San Angelo will send out righty Chandler Barnard (7-2, 3.59) against fellow right-hander Aaron Guerra (4-5, 3.52). It all begins with the Colts pre-game show at 6:45 p.m., with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. on 101.9 "The Fire".
