
Silvertips Fall To Pats, 4-2

Everett, WA - Despite a late flurry of Everett scoring chances the Regina Pats defeated the Silvertips 4-2 Friday night. Everett started hot with a quick two goal lead on tallies from Shane Harper and Chris Langkow before Regina scored four answered goals. Jordan Eberle collected a hat trick and an assist on the night to lead the scoring for Regina. Thomas Heemskerk stopped 36 of 40 shots in a strong showing while Damien Kelto made 34 saves for the win.
Scoring in his third straight game, Harper collected his team leading 17th goal of the year at 11:36 of the first period. Harper corralled the puck on the right faceoff dot before faking a shot and firing a quick snap shot, five-hole for the 1-0 Everett lead. Langkow added to Everett's lead on a delayed Regina penalty at 16:03. Being patient with the puck, Langkow moved to the slot on his backhand before firing his ninth of the season low, glove side moving Everett's lead to 2-0. Cody Carlson picked up Regina's first of the night at 19:54 on the power play. Picking up the puck in the high slot, Carlson found the back of the net with traffic in front of the Everett net to move the score to 2-1 after 10 minutes of play.
Regina collected their second power play goal at 8:55 of the second period. Jordan Eberle scored his 21st goal picking up a loose puck on top of the crease past Thomas Heemskerk to tie the score 2-2. Regina led in shots 33-16 after two period of play.
Eberle scored for the second time to start off the third period. Grabbing his 22nd goal on the power play at 3:42, Eberle fired a hard shot top-shelf, blocker side from the low slot to give the Pats a 3-2 advantage. Heemskerk continued to play huge in the third period stopping numerous scoring chances on Regina's power play. Pats goaltender Damien Kelto robbed Tyler Maxwell at 10:50 on a backdoor sprawl to keep Regina up one goal. Everett hit the post at 17:02 almost finding the back of the net on a scramble in front of the Regina net. Kelto robbed Kellan Tochkin backdoor with a diving stick-save with just over one minute left in regulation. Eberle scored an empty net goal at 19:51 to give him a hat trick and Regina the 4-2 victory.
This brings the âTips record to 15-8-1-0 with 31 points in 24 games played. Everett heads over to Kennewick, WA tomorrow night to take on the Tri-City Americans at 7:05pm.
