Silvertips Close Out Road Trip with 3-2 Shootout Loss in Red Deer

RED DEER, Albe. - The Everett Silvertips picked up a point in their Central Division tour conclusion, falling to the Red Deer Rebels 3-2 in the shootout Saturday night.

Kai Uchacz opened the scoring with the teddy bear toss goal at 19:50 in the first period, capping off a two-on-one rush. Tarin Smith equalized for Everett with a slick wrist shot 1:28 into the second period, giving him four goals on the season.

Talon Brigley gave the Rebels another lead at 3:51 in the second period, but he would be answered once more by Beau Courtney's sixth of the year through the five-hole at 7:33.

Scoreless at the end of regulation and overtime, Jhett Larson netted the only goal of the shootout to seal a 3-2 victory for Red Deer.

Tyler Palmer turned aside 40 of 42 in 65 minutes of play and three of four in the shootout. Chase Wutzke stopped 22 of 24 in the Rebels' win. The Everett Silvertips now sit at 17-11-1-1 on the season, giving them 36 points- good for third in the Western Conference.
