Silvertips Clinch Playoff Berth

Everett Silvertips News Release
The Everett Silvertips have secured a playoff berth for the eighth consecutive year. The Silvertips have never missed out on the WHL Playoffs since entering the league in the 2003-04 season, a campaign that was punctuated by a Western Conference Championship.
Everett's first round opponents will be the rival Portland Winterhawks in a rematch of the first round of the 2005 WHL Playoffs, a series Everett won in seven games. Though Everett finished 1-7-1-1 against Portland in 2010-11, nine of the ten games were decided by two goals or less. The highlight of the season series occurred on February 25th, when Kent Simpson backstopped the Silvertips to a 2-0 shutout victory over Portland, courtesy of a 45-save performance.
The series will open at the Rose Garden for a pair of games on Saturday, March 26th (7:05 pm) and Sunday, March 27th (5:05 pm), before shifting back to Everett for games three and four. Dates and times of games to be played at Comcast Arena will be announced shortly.
