Silvertips Announce Possible Playoff Dates

EVERETT - With just three days remaining in the 2013-14 WHL regular season, the Everett Silvertips today released a list of potential series-opening dates to align with each of Everett's possible playoff scenarios and opponents. In their 11th consecutive WHL playoff appearance, the Silvertips could still finish fourth, fifth or sixth in the Western Conference and face either the Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs or Victoria Royals in a best-of-seven first round series.

If the Silvertips remain in sixth place in the conference, they will meet the third-seeded Victoria Royals in the first round. The first four games of that series would take place on the following dates:

Game 1 @ Victoria Saturday, Mar. 22

Game 2 @ Victoria Sunday, Mar. 23

Game 3 @ Everett Wednesday, Mar. 26

Game 4 @ Everett Friday, Mar. 28

Everett still has the potential to move into fourth or fifth place in the West, meaning the 'Tips would then face either the Seattle Thunderbirds or Spokane Chiefs in the opening round.

If the Silvertips finish in fourth place and take on the Seattle Thunderbirds:

Game 1 @ Everett Friday, Mar. 21

Game 2 @ Everett Saturday, Mar. 22

Game 3 @ Seattle Tuesday, Mar. 25

Game 4 @ Seattle Friday, Mar. 28

If the Silvertips finish in fifth place and face Seattle:

Game 1 @ Seattle Saturday, Mar. 22

Game 2 @ Everett Sunday, Mar. 23

Game 3 @ Seattle Tuesday, Mar. 25

Game 4 @ Everett Friday, Mar. 28

If the Silvertips meet the Spokane Chiefs in the first round, regardless of whether Everett is the #4 or #5 seed, the first four games will take place on the same dates:

Game 1 @ Everett Friday, Mar. 21

Game 2 @ Everett Saturday, Mar. 22

Game 3 @ Spokane Wednesday, Mar. 26

Game 4 @ Spokane Friday, Mar. 28

The Silvertips have three games remaining in the regular season, including a home-and-home series against the Royals beginning Friday in Victoria and concluding Saturday at 7:05 pm with Fan Appreciation Night at Comcast Arena. Everett then travels to Portland to finish the regular season against the Winterhawks on Sunday afternoon.
