Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Jameson Murray from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a conditional sixth round selection in the 2019 or 2020 WHL Draft.

"Jameson's size as a right shot defenseman is a valuable addition for our depth along the blueline," said Davidson. "We're looking forward to working with his continued development in our program and welcoming him immediately to the Silvertips family."

Murray, 18, has six points (1g-5a) in 28 games this season with the Hitmen and made his WHL debut last year with a goal and two assists 35 games, also suiting up in three WHL Playoff games.

The 6-foot-3, 183-pound defenseman and Kelowna, British Columbia native recently posted a three point (1g-2a) game with the Hitmen last Saturday in a 6-1 victory at Lethbridge. Before signing a WHL Standard Player Agreement with Calgary on Oct. 28, 2016, he had 14 goals and 50 points in 56 games in 2015-16 with the Kelowna Midget Tier 1 Rockets (OMAHA).

The Silvertips return to play in downtown Everett tonight, 7:05pm against the Tri-City Americans (1380 AM / FM 95.3 / Tips App / WHL Live). Tickets are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.
