Prince George Cougars Add Blue-Line Depth in Trade with Tigers

Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC-The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club have acquired defenceman Cameron MacPhee (99) from the Medicine Hat Tigers, General Manager Todd Harkins announced Tuesday afternoon.

In exchange, the Cougars sent a seventh-round selection in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft to the Tigers.

MacPhee, 18, played parts of the last two seasons with the Tigers, including 20 games this season, where he picked up one goal, to go along with 36 penalty-minutes. The left-handed shot defenceman split last season between the Tigers and Grand Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, after he signed with Medicine Hat in September 2016. The Edmonton, Alberta, product is a graduate of the South Side Athletic Cub in the Albert Midget Hockey League.

"Cam is a steady puck-mover who defends well," said General Manager Todd Harkins. "He's got good size and he plays a heavier game; he'll fit in nicely."

The Cougars are back in action tonight, as they face their BC Division rivals, the Vancouver Giants at the CN Centre; face-off is 7 pm.

Single game Tickets are available at the TicketsNorth box office at the CN Centre, or online via www.TicketsNorth.ca
