The Reno Silver Sox picked up their second consecutive victory by a final of 8-1 tonight, June 19, as they swept the St. George Roadrunners in their first ever visit to Peccole Park.

LF Carlos Madrid got things started for the Silver Sox in the first inning, hitting a three run home run over the left field wall for his second round trip of the season. St. George starter LHP Pat Wells pitched only 1/3 of an inning giving way to RHP Ben Buker. DH Masashi Chikazawa kept the first inning rally alive driving in C Jose Rodriguez and 3B Chuck Sidlinger knocked in 1B Cody Nowlin to complete a five run rally in the opening inning.

Rodriguez hit his league-leading fifth home run of the year in the seventh inning and Chikazawa followed suit in the eighth with his second home run of the season.

Silver Sox starter Matt Paris Pitched six innings, striking out 10 batters and earning his first victory of the season. RHP Marshall Plouffe and LHP Jason Martinez would pitch the final three innings to preserve the lead and seal the team?s fourth win of the year.

The Silver Sox now embark on a nine day road trip with four games in Long Beach and three in St. George. The team returns to Reno on Friday, June 29 to face the Yuma Scorpions. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting the ticket booth at Peccole Park. All games can be heard on the Radio on ESPN 630.
