April 27, 2004 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Sidewinders News Release
The Tucson Sidewinders now have a Pacific Coast League best 12-6 record approaching an important four game series against the 2003 PCL Champion Sacramento RiverCats, starting Thursday, April 29th at 6:30.
Tucson commands a 2.5 game lead over 2nd place Sacramento and 8.5 game lead over current opponent Fresno entering tonight's action. The South Division leading Sidewinders' record is good for best in all of Triple-A baseball. Tucson's 8-3 home record is the best in the PCL.
Tucson's first few weeks of action have provided plenty of drama. OF Victor Hall and 1B Alan Zinter sealed Tucson's 4th walk-off win of the season on April 25th versus Fresno. Tucson trailed the Grizzlies by a run in the bottom of the 9th before an RBI triple by Hall tied the game. Zinter followed by driving in the winning run with a sacrifice fly to left. Tucson's previous come-from-behind victories this season came on walk-off home runs by 3B Chad Tracy on April 8th and 13th, and a walk-off triple by 2B Scott Hairston on April 14th.
