
Sidewinders doubled up by Stingers, 10-5

Tucson, AZ- The Tucson Sidewinders were doubled up by the Salt Lake Stingers 10-5 at Tucson Electric Park Sunday. The Sidewinders fell victim to a strong pitching performances by Stingers starter RHP Dustin Moseley and RHP Joel Peralta. Moesley (2-0, 0.00 ERA), threw 6 innings giving up no runs on only four hits. Peralta earned his second save going 1 and two thirds innings giving up one run and two hits.
The Sidewinders scored 4 runs in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to 8-4. The first run of the inning came on a single by RF Carlos Quentin, making the score 8-1. Next up was DH Alan Zinter belted hit a 2 RBI double closed the gap to 8-3. 1B Conor Jackson's s RBI single made the game 8-4. The Sidewinders left the bases loaded however and could not recover, after surrendering 2 more in the top of the ninth inning.
Starting LHP Chris Michalak, earned the loss for the Sidewinders going 6 innings giving up eleven hits and eight earned runs while striking out five. The loss drops Michalak to 0-1 on the season. His next scheduled start is Friday when the Sidewinders take on Colorado Springs at Tucson Electric Park.
After the loss Tucson falls to 4-7 on the year and 1-2 at home. The win moves Salt Lake to 7-3 on the season, 5-2 against the Sidewinders. The series concludes tomorrow night at Tucson Electric Park with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The scheduled starters are RHP Edgar Gonzalez (0-0, 1.64 ERA) for the Sidewinders and RHP Scott Dunn (0-0, 1.50 ERA) for the Stingers.
