Sidekicks Player Prepares for World Cup

(ALLEN, TEXAS) Dallas Sidekicks forward Frederico Moojen was named to Canadian Soccer's Futsal National Team's 17-man roster for a two-match international friendly series with defending back-to-back Concacaf Futsal Championship winners Costa Rica.

Team Canada played four games in Costa Rica with two being against local clubs and two against the Costa Rican National Team. This camp was used to prepare for the 2020 Concacaf Futsal Championship in May in Guatemala. "Canada Soccer's Futsal National Team drew Costa Rica 2:2 in the second match of a friendly series in San Rafael, CRC. The draw followed an historic 2:1 first-ever victory against the three-time and back-to-back defending Concacaf champions," as per canadasoccer.com's press release.

Moojen player in three games and scored two goals. When asked about his experience, Moojen said, "It is always an honor for me to represent Canada. We used the Costa Rican national team's facilities for training every day. It is a top of the art facility with everything you need."

The team will return to Canada and host a final camp in March before the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2020 qualification tournament. The top four 2020 Concacaf Futsal Championships teams will qualify for Lithuania 2020.
