Sonora Outlast Fury, Win 4-3 in Shootouts

Ontario, California - The Ontario Fury (4-8) lost in shootouts to the visiting Soles de Sonora (7-7) on Saturday Night in front of 3,342 fans at Toyota Arena.

The teams entered halftime with Sonora leading 3-1 with goals from Enrique Canez, Christian Espinoza and Manuel Aragon. The Fury lone goal in the first half was scored by Justin Stinson. The Fury scored twice in the third quarter with Juan Carlos Gonzalez and Franck Tayou goals to tie the game up at 3-3.

After a scoreless fourth quarter and 10 minute golden goal overtime period, the teams headed to shootouts. Sonora made 2 out of their 3 attempts with Enrique Canez and Efrain Martinez scoring while the Fury only made 1 of their 3 attempts with Juan Carlos Gonzlaez scoring.

The loss was the third in a row this season to Soles de Sonora. The Fury are currently in 5th place in the Western Conference at the half way point of the Major Arena Soccer League season.

The Fury are back at home at Toyota Arena to face the Mesquite Outlaws on Friday February 7th, 7pm kickoff. Tickets for the game are available on Ticketmaster.com or by calling the Fury Offices at 909.457.0252. This will be the first meeting and the only match this season between the two clubs.
