Sidekicks Lose First of Two-Game California Trip

(ALLEN, TEXAS) The Dallas Sidekicks lost against the Ontario Fury 4-13. The Sidekicks next game home game is against the San Diego Sockers on Sunday, February 23rd at 3:05 PM CST at the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX.
Ontario had possession for much of the first half of the quarter. Fury players Juan Carlos Gonzalez and Joseph Cairel were both able to score within 30 seconds of each other and brought the score to 2-0. Dallas' Kristian Quintana was blue carded for tripping and Ontario went on the power play. Fury took several shots on goal but were unable to take advantage of the power play. With less than two minutes left in the quarter, Ontario's Franck Tayou put one in for his team. The quarter ended with Fury up by three.
The Fury came out strong in the second quarter. Ontario's Christian Alvarado scored and brought their lead to 4-0. Shortly after, Fury had back-to-back goals from Franck Tayou and Justin Stinson. This gave the Fury a six-point lead. Then, a hat-trick by Franck Tayou brought the score to 7-0. The quarter ended with Fury's Cairel putting another one past the keeper. The teams went into the half with the Fury up 8-0.
The second half started with a power play for the Sidekicks after Fury's Uzi Tayou was blue carded for pushing. Dallas' Victor Almendariz took advantage of the power play and put the Sidekicks on the board 8-1. Ontario's Juan Carlos Gonzalez shot back and put another one in for his team. Then Fury scored again, this time by Jiho Lee. The quarter ended with Ontario in the lead 10-1.
Fury player Maicon De Abreu scored as soon as the fourth quarter began and brought the score to 11-1. Sidekicks' Kleber Bismarck was given a blue card for contact above the shoulder. Ontario took several shots on goal on the power play but were unable to get one past Sidekicks goalkeeper Juan Gamboa. Dallas then got their second goal of the night from Freddy Moojen. Fury's Marcus Jordan was able to score a point on an open goal while Gamboa was playing up the field trying to help his team. In the last minute of the game, both teams went on a scoring frenzy. Moojen got his second goal of the night then Uzi Tayou got one last goal for Ontario. In the last seven seconds, Sidekicks' Luiz Felipe Xavier De Andrade scored one last goal for the Sidekicks. The game ended with Fury winning 13-4.
