Allen, Texas - The Dallas Sidekicks have announced today the signing of former player and powerhouse midfielder Jamie Lovegrove.
Lovegrove has been with the Sidekicks for several stints from when they returned to the MASL in 2012, the 2014-2015 season and 2016-2017 season.
The veteran midfielder brings a wealth of experience with his career statistics to support his success in the MASL. Joining the Sidekicks, Lovegrove is sure to make an impact from the start.
How do you feel about joining the Sidekicks organization again?
I feel great about joining this organization again, an organization who has given me so much to be grateful about, I'm happy to be a part of it again.
What impact do you want to make this season?
I just want to go out there and do my part for the team, to play at a high level and hopefully bring something's that the team is needing, as far as experience and a little bit of what I have learned through the years.
Has Coach Ricardinho given you any tips or words of advice?
Coach Rica is a big part of why I chose to come back and play for the Sidekicks again. Rica has been my teammate, then captain and now coach. I look forward to playing for him and giving my all to help him and this team. Not really any tips or anything like that, I think I know what Rica expects of me and hopefully I can do that.
What are your expectations for yourself and the team this year?
Expectations for me are to just go out and enjoy playing football again. Hopefully I can bring some creativity and some goals to this team, also to win as many games as we can. We have a good group here and some teammates that I have played with before, and now some teammates I'm excited to play with.
The next home game is this Thursday, December 30th at 7:00 PM against the St. Louis Ambush. Doors open at 6:00 PM at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.
