BILOXI, Miss. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (17-27, 45-67) fell to the Biloxi Shuckers (24-20, 64-49) by a 2-1 score in the final game of the five-game series at MGM Park on Monday night.

Jacksonville right-handed relief pitcher Reilly Hovis (0-2) took the loss, allowing the go-ahead run to score in the bottom of the eighth. Biloxi right-handed relief pitcher Jeff Ames (1-0) earned the win, while Jon Olczak earned the save with a scoreless ninth.

Justin Twine continued his hot hitting in the top of the third with a solo homer to left to give Jacksonville a 1-0 lead. The Shuckers answered in the bottom of the third as Trent Grisham hit a two-out RBI single up the middle to even the score at one.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the eighth. Pinch-hitter Corey Ray drew a one out walk, then a balk by Hovis moved him to second during Grisham's at-bat. Grisham then delivered an RBI single to center field to give the Shuckers a 2-1 lead, which would be the final.

Eric Jagielo led Jacksonville at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles in his final two at-bats. Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Cody Poteet had a no decision, working six innings where he only allowed a run on five hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
