Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies will look to win a fifth straight game Friday night when they hit the road for the next chapter of the Battle of Ontario in Belleville.
It will be the ninth game of the season between the two sides, as they've come to know each other well through the regular season series.
Their last meeting, less than two weeks ago, saw the Marlies skate to a 4-1 victory on the road.
The Marlies (43-16-1-1) hold the top spot in the league and have won six of eight matchups against the Senators on the season and outscored them 28-14. They enter Friday's game after shutting out Laval on Wednesday night by a 4-0 final
Belleville (23-35-2-3) is also entering the game after defeating Laval, beating them 5-3 last Saturday. They have won just two of their last ten games.
With a road record 25-5-0-1, the Marlies lead the entire league in success away from home while Belleville has struggled on home ice, going 12-18-1-0 at the Yardmen Arena.
Chris Mueller is currently leading the Marlies in points against Belleville this season, averaging a point-per-game with two goals and six assists in eight games.
From the blue line, Justin Holl has picked up five points in six games played, scoring once.
At the other end, Ty Randell and Max Reinhart each have four points in eight games played to lead Belleville.
