SAN DIEGO - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Korbinian Holzer from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Holzer, 30 (2/16/88), has gone scoreless with six penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with the Ducks this season. Holzer appeared in nine games with San Diego from Feb. 17-Mar. 13, earning 0-2=2 points with an even plus/minus rating and 14 PIM.
Acquired from Toronto in exchange for Eric Brewer and a fifth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft on Mar. 2, 2015, Holzer has collected 4-15=19 points with 94 PIM in 133 games with the Ducks and Maple Leafs. The 6-3, 214-pound defenseman has also skated in 285 career AHL games, recording 10-64=74 points with 330 PIM.
