The Land of the Unbeatens- After two weeks in the 2010-11 season, there are two perfect squads, one in each conference, with the Allen Americans sitting 5-0-0 and the Bloomington PrairieThunder are 3-0-0. The PrairieThunder's route has been a touch more thrilling for their fans as they have won once in regulation, once in a shootout and once in overtime. All three victories for Bloomington have come by one goal. Allen has won by two goals or more in four of their five victories. Bloomington hosts Evansville and Dayton this week looking to stay unblemished and Allen will be tested immensely hosting Bossier-Shreveport on Tuesday and then heading to Rapid City for a pair of games on the weekend.

Home Ice Advantage- The Dayton Gems (3-1-0) have taken advantage of the schedule winning three of four games on their four-game season-opening home stand. The Gems play just once between now and November 5th, in Bloomington on Saturday night (Oct. 30). Dayton then returns home for another four-game home stand that will see them host Fort Wayne, Arizona and a pair of games versus Colorado. Last week, Dayton topped Quad City and Odessa and were led by goaltender Jeff Jakaitis who turned away 66 of 71 shots (.930 save percentage). Dayton's top line of Chris Lipsett, Brett Lutes and Jonathan Ornelas have combined for five goals and 11 assists this season.

Welcome Home- On Thursday, the Odessa Jackalopes will become the 18th and final CHL team to play their home opener when they host the Laredo Bucks on Thursday night (Oct. 28) at the Jack Shack. Odessa struggled on their season-opening four-game road trip winning just once and allowing five goals in each of their three losses. The Jacks are 20-15-2 all-time versus Odessa owning the series more recently winning nine of the last 11 regular season meetings. Odessa went 26-4-2 at home last season on their way to winning the CHL regular season championship.

Busy 'Bugs Keep on Trucking- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will complete their over-loaded month of October this week with games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday giving them nine tilts in the opening month. So far they are no worse for the wear posting a 4-2-0 record and sitting all alone in second place in the Berry Conference, two points behind conference-leading Allen. The Mudbugs and the leaders will go at it for the third time this season on Tuesday night in Allen and then the Mudbugs return home for a match-up versus Rio Grande Valley on Thursday and finish the month on Saturday at Missouri.
