
Shipley to Mobile, Tarleton to Visalia, Fitzgerald Released

MOBILE, AL -- The Mobile BayBears and Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that on Sunday, August 3, 2014, RHP Braden Shipley has been promoted from Class A-advanced Visalia to Class AA Mobile. In a corresponding move catcher Dallas Tarleton has been transferred from Class AA Mobile to Class A-advanced Visalia and RHP Justin Fitzgerald has been released. The BayBears active roster now stands at 24.
Shipley, the Diamondbacks number two overall prospect joins the BayBears from High-A Visalia where he sported a 2-4 record with a 4.03 ERA in 10 starts with the Rawhide. The righty began the year with Lo-A South Bend where he was 4-2 with a 3.74 ERA in eight games with the Silverhawks. The 22 year old will make his Double-A debut against the Tennessee Smokies Wednesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Tarleton travels to join the Rawhide after going 2-for-4 in one game with the BayBears.
Fitzgerald has been released after 15 games and 11 starts with Mobile. The Santa Rosa, California native went 7-2 with a 4.02 ERA with the BayBears.
