PORTLAND - July 23, 2015 - The Maine Red Claws announced today that Sherwood Brown, Andre Stringer and Eugene Spates will all return to the Portland Expo next week to help run the Maine Red Claws Jr. Red Claws Summer Camp.
This will be the first time back in the Expo for Brown and Stringer, who both helped lead Maine to a franchise record 35 wins in the 2014-15 season. Brown, who helped "Dunk City" lead a magical run at the 2013 NCAA Tournament with Florida Gulf Coast University, just completed his second season with the Red Claws.
Stringer, who made the Red Claws' squad out of tryouts, averaged 7.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for Maine. His long-range shooting was on display all season long at the Expo.
Spates played for the Red Claws in the 2010-11 season. He averaged 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. The forward has been playing overseas in Bahrain and Qatar the past few seasons.
Also coaching at the camp will be NBA coach Frank Lopez, returning to Portland for his fifth year running the camp.
The Jr. Red Claws Summer Camp runs July 27-31 at the Expo.
The coaches will be available for interviews and photo opportunities. Please contact Evans Boston at 207-838-7416 or eboston@maineredclaws.com to arrange a date and time.
