MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO - The Maine Celtics beat Raptors 905, 115-112, picking up their second consecutive win behind a massive fourth-quarter scoring outburst from Marial Shayok.

Luka Šamanić put up 23 points and 12 rebounds for his 17th double-double of the season. Tony Snell scored 22 points, a G League career-high, to go with five rebounds and four assists. Kamar Baldwin totaled 12 points and five assists and Reggie Kissoonlal II put up 11 and five rebounds in just eight minutes. Denzel Valentine logged five points, 11 rebounds and five assists and Two-Way guard JD Davison had four points and seven assists.
Toronto assignee Dalano Banton led the 905 (8-6) with 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists while fellow assignee Christian Koloko recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Hawkins chipped in 17 points and Reggie Perry had 16, five rebounds and six assists. Two-Way guards Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Ron Harper Jr. turned in 15 and 13 points, respectively.
Baldwin hit a 13-footer and layed one in for Maine first two buckets as the pace ramped up right out of the gates. Snell followed up a hard drive with a hard cut to the rim for a finish; the Celtics got into the habit of sharing the ball early, assisting on five of their first seven makes. The 905 ripped off an 8-2 run to go up 18-12 before Šamanić ended it with a three. The Raptors held a five-point lead for the remainder of the frame behind nine first-quarter points from Banton, after which they led 27-22.
The Celtics opened the second on a 5-0 run, then Snell sank a pair of triples and Šamanić added one of his own in a scorching hot start to the quarter that gave Maine the lead back. Both teams were flying up and down the court in the first half, with the Celtics holding a slight edge thanks to 11 fastbreak points on six forced turnovers. Following a 39-point second quarter for Maine, they took a 61-53 lead into the halftime break.
Maine held the 905 scoreless for over two minutes to begin the second half. Snell buried his fourth trey to put the Celtics ahead 66-57, but a 6-2 Raptors run got them within four by the first timeout in the third. The Raptors were able to catch back up and tie it but Kissoonlal and Davison injected energy into the Celtics to quell the run. Hawkins and Davison traded layups in the final 12 seconds of the frame, and we were all squared up after three, 85-85.
A 9-5 run for the Raptors in the opening minutes of the fourth gave them a 94-90 lead, their largest lead since the second quarter. It didn't take long for Shayok to respond, catching absolute fire as he put up 15 straight points including four three-pointers in a total takeover of the game down the stretch. Baldwin nailed a three and found Snell for an easy lay-in to keep the 905 at bay late, and Šamanić split a pair of free throws to put the Celtics ahead 111-108 with 26.6 seconds left. After Shayok caught Banton on the arm and fouled out with 17 seconds left, Banton sank both free throws to cut the 905's deficit to one. Maine bled six seconds off the clock before Snell was fouled off the ensuing inbound, and he hit both free throws to make it a three-point game. Valentine came up clutch as always, stripping Banton on a crossover, taking it the other way and icing the game with a pair of free throws to give the Celtics a hard-fought 115-112 victory.
The Celtics and Raptors are back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 11:00 AM in Mississauga and will return home for a back-to-back with the Cleveland Charge on Feb. 10 and 11.
