JACKSONVILLE - For the second time in as many seasons, the Jacksonville Sharks will begin the postseason on the road with a matchup against the Orlando Predators. The two in-state rivals will square off at Orlando's Amway Center on Saturday, August 6. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
Jacksonville (7-9) enters the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the American Conference, while Orlando (12-4) is the No. 2 seed. Saturday's game between the Sharks and Predators will air live to a national audience at 7:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. This is the fourth all-time postseason meeting between the teams (Sharks lead 2-1), as most recently the Sharks defeated the Predators, 55-33, in the first round of the 2015 playoffs.
The winner of Saturday's game will advance to face either the No. 1 Philadelphia Soul or the No. 4 Tampa Bay Storm, who will take the field at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7 in a matchup that will air live on ESPN2. In the event that the Sharks defeat the Predators, Jacksonville would host Tampa Bay but travel to face Philadelphia.
Over in the National Conference, the No. 1 Arizona Rattlers host the No. 4 Portland Steel at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday (CBS Sports Network), while the No. 2 Los Angeles KISS host the No. 3 Cleveland Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (ESPN3/WatchESPN).
