JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that the team has partnered with The Blood Alliance to hold a "Get Bit" Blood Drive on Thursday, June 26. The drive will be held at Sea Best Field inside the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
"We're excited to continue our long-standing partnership with The Blood Alliance with this year's day long blood drive," Sharks Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy said. "This is a great opportunity for our organization and our fans to "Bleed With Your Team" to help The Blood Alliance save lives."
"As the only provider of blood to all Northeast Florida hospitals, we depend on our community for their lifesaving blood to help local area patients," said Odette Struys, Spokesperson for The Blood Alliance. "Our partnership with the Sharks is a symbiotic one -- they bite their fans (with exciting arena football), we collect the blood!"
All fans that donate during the blood drive will receive a t-shirt and be entered into random drawings for a selection of great Sharks prizes, including a replica helmet, a customized jersey and owner's seat tickets to an upcoming game. Sharks players and Attack Dancers will be on hand during the drive as well.
Those participating in the blood drive will be able to enter the arena through the Duval Street Entrance. Fans can make their appointments to bleed for the Sharks by visiting: www.igiveblood.com !
