Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that rookie wide receiver Maurice Dupree has been assigned to the Jacksonville roster. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 28-year-old Dupree (5'11", 190) is new to the Arena Football League but brings a wealth of previous indoor football experience. Most recently, Dupree played with the Alabama Hammers of the Professional Indoor Football League, where he caught 20 passes for 296 yards and four touchdowns this season. Dupree had played with the Hammers in 2011 and the PIFL's Columbus Lions in both 2012 in 2013. During that 2012 season, Dupree was a teammate of Sharks receiver London Crawford.

Dupree's first professional football experience came in 2009, as he was invited to participate in the Jacksonville Jaguars' rookie mini-camp following that year's NFL Draft.

Dupree starred at Jacksonville State University, where as a senior in 2008 he led the Gamecocks in every major receiving category, totaling 49 receptions for 799 yards and 10 touchdowns. Dupree also made an impact on special teams, racking up 537 yards and a touchdown on 19 returns.

The Sharks also announced Wednesday that defensive back George Baker has been placed on injured reserve. Following the transactions, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
