Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - The 2013 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced today that the team has entered into a major partnership with Veteran Tickets Foundation. During the 2014 season, this initiative will provide Sharks tickets to military families throughout the Greater Jacksonville community.
"This partnership with Veteran Tickets Foundation is the perfect way for the Sharks organization to continue supporting our local military," Sharks Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy said. "We look forward to the opportunity to say "thank you" by giving military families the chance to attend a Sharks game for free."
"Vet Tix feels honored that the Sharks would choose our foundation in its philanthropic efforts," said Vet Tix CEO Michael Focareto. "Support from teams like the Sharks help us realize our goal of saying thank you to all service members and veterans."
Vet Tix provides tickets to military personnel who are currently serving, Honorably Discharged Veterans, Severely Wounded Veterans and those who are the Primary Next of Kin of someone who was Killed in Action. To set up an account to receive tickets through the foundation, please visit www.vettix.org.
This initiative will center on the Sharks' annual Military Appreciation Night. Funds raised during the team's postgame jersey auction and other game-day initiatives will be donated to Vet Tix. Vet Tix will then use those funds to provide Sharks tickets to qualified persons who register with the foundation.
Shark fans may also contribute to Vet Tix through the Sharks' "Sharks & Soliders" program. Tickets purchased through Sharks and Soldiers will be donated for distribution. For more information about Sharks & Soldiers, please visit www.jaxsharks.com/groupssuites/sharkssoldiers/.
