Sharks Sign Wide Receiver Deontay Greenberry
Former NFL Receiver joins Jacksonville for 2018
JACKSONVILLE - Deontay Greenberry will be entering his first year in arena football.
Greenberry (6'2, 185) attended training camp with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 2016 and attended minicamp with the Washington Redskins after spending the 2015 NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks.
Prior to his professional career, Greenberry played college ball at the University of Houston, where he finished his college career ranked eighth on Houston's all-time receiving list, accumulating 201 career receptions for 2,612 yards and 20 touchdowns. Greenberry became the sixth receiver in school history to record two seasons of at least 70 receptions.
Greenberry is a native of Fresno, California, and attended Washington Union High School, where he was a three- sport athlete in football, basketball and track. Throughout his senior season, he produced 109 receptions for 2,165 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also labeled as a four-star recruit and the seventh-best receiver in his class. Greenberry originally committed to Norte Dame before attending the University of Houston.
