Sharks Sign Fahey And Davison

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed Group II Restricted Free Agent defensemen Jim Fahey and Rob Davison to one-year deals. Both defensemen are former Cleveland Barons.

In 126 games with the Barons, Fahey has posted 8 goals, 54 assists (8-54-62), and 252 penalty minutes. Among all-time Barons, he ranks eighth with 54 assists, 11th with 62 points, and fifth with 252 penalty minutes. During the 2004-05 season, he registered 26 points (4-22-26) and 146 PIM.

In 2003-04, Fahey, 26, posted two points, both assists, in 15 games with the Sharks. Fahey split time between San Jose and the Barons where he posted 19 points (one goal, 18 assists) and 64 PIM in 32 games.

In 2002-03, Fahey posted 20 points (one goal, 19 assists) in 42 games with the Sharks. His totals ranked him first among all NHL rookie defensemen in points (20) and power-play assists (13). Fahey was rewarded for his performance by being named the PlayStation "Sharks Rookie of the Year."

The six-foot, 200-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts was originally selected by San Jose in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft (8th Round, 212th Overall).

Davison, 25, has appeared in 112 career games with the Barons recording two goals, six assists (2-6-8) and 288 PIM, which are fourth on the Barons all-time list.

In 2003-04, he posted career-highs in assists (3) and points (3) in 55 games with the Sharks. In addition, Davison ranked second on the team in penalty minutes (92) and averaged over 14 minutes per game in ice time.

In 2002-03, Davison split time between San Jose and Barons. He posted three points (one goal, two assists) in 15 games with the Sharks and posted four points (one goal, three assists) in 42 games with the Barons

The six-foot-three, 220-pound native of St. Catherine's, Ontario was originally selected by San Jose in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft (4th Round, 98th overall).
