Wilmington Sharks News Release

The Wilmington Sharks were able to pick up their second win in as many games after Monday night's 3-0 victory over the High Point - Thomasville HiToms. Similar to their last home game, Monday night's victory was a great team victory. The Sharks tallied six hits on the evening.

With two men out in the inning, Christian Wolfe approached the plate. On the third pitch of the at bat, Wolfe hit a chopper to Matt Vernon at third base, but the ball was thrown away, allowing McRae and DeVito to score.

Wilmington's the third run of the game game in the bottom of the 6th inning. Kevin Husum lead off the inning with a walk, and advanced to second-base after Nate Moorhouse was plucked between the shoulder blades. Husum was driven home from second by a single from McRae.

Nate Moorhouse stole second base in the 6th and again in the 8th. Two pitches later, Moorhouse stole third-base, bringing his season total to five in just two innings.

On the mound, Beau Dees was able to produce a solid six innings of work, improving his record to 1-1 on the season. Dees struck out four and walked just one.

The Wilmington Sharks are at home once again tomorrow evening, facing the Fayetteville SwampDogs, while High Point - Thomasville travels to Morehead City for a date with the Marlins.
