JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 NAL Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced the re-signing of offensive lineman Derrick Zeigler. The Sharks added another piece towards their goal of back to back Championships by adding All-NAL center Derrick Zeigler who re-signed with the Sharks for the 2020 season under Head Coach James Fuller and has agreed to return for the 2021 season.

Offensive Lineman Derrick Zeigler (6'5,320) enters his third season of arena football and third consecutive season with the Jacksonville Sharks. Zeigler's first two seasons with the Sharks led to massive success for the 6'5 center. Earning First Team All-NAL Honors both years and NAL Offensive Lineman of the Year and NAL Champion in 2019. During the 2019 season with Zeigler at center, the Sharks led the league in rushing touchdowns (25), Total touchdowns (109), scoring offense, total offense, and allowed the least amount of sacks (11). The Sharks offensive line was anchored by Zeigler and enabled the Sharks team to finish the season 15-1 and win the 2019 National Arena League championship.

Zeigler attended Northeast Mississippi Community College where he played defensive linemen in eight games and recorded 31 total tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles during his college career. The Sharks All NAL center is a native of Elmore, AL, and played on the offensive line for Holtville high school. Currently, Zeigler resides in Elmore, AL, and has a moving business called Handz On Moving.
