Sharks Add Veteran Defensive Back Demarcus Robinson

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Monday that Defensive Back Demarcus Robinson has been assigned to the Jacksonville roster. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 29-year-old Robinson (6'2", 200) has been on 3 team rosters in his five seasons in the AFL spending most of his active career in New Orleans with the Voodoo. In 2015 Robinson was traded from the Sharks to the Las Vegas Outlaws recording 20 tackles and one interception with Jacksonville and finishing the season with the with 27 tackles in Los Vegas.

During his professional career Robinson has combined for 336.5 tackles, 15 INTs, and six forced fumbles. Robinson spent 2012-14 in New Orleans with the Vodoo where he played an impact role providing 205 tackles and eight INTs for the Vodoo in only three seasons with the team. In 2012 Robinson played a major role for New Orleans recorded 91.5 total tackles, ranked second on the team for pass break ups with 17, and totaled for six interceptions. As a rookie Robinson played for the Cleveland Gladiators recording 75.5 tackles and a team high of five interceptions for 79 yards.

Robinson spent his colligate career at Henderson State University earning All-American honors in 2007 leading his team with 82 tackles and nine interceptions. Previous to his career at Henderson State University Robinson also attended Tyler Junior college.
