Shakur, Owens, Mullens Named To All NBA D-League Teams

TULSA, Okla., April 16, 2010 - Three Tulsa 66ers players, including two that have been assigned by the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2009-10 season, were named to All-NBA Development League teams, the league announced today. Thunder guard Mustafa Shakur was named to the All NBA D-League Second Team, forward Larry Owens was named to the Third Team, while Thunder center Byron Mullens was named as an Honorable Mention.

In 47 starts for the 66ers this season, Shakur averaged 19.3 points, 6.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 steals in 37.9 minutes per contest. The University of Arizona product had 10 double-doubles this season, and had season-highs of 34 points against Dakota on March 5 and 14 assists against Iowa on January 28. Shakur finished the season with 324 assists, which is third-most in franchise history, and earned a call-up to the Thunder on March 17.

Owens is the only player to start all 50 games during the regular season, averaging 15.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 36.4 minutes per game. The Oral Roberts University product scored a team season-high 37 points against Maine on February 18, then posted a 34-point performance on the road at Rio Grande Valley on March 14. The 6-7 forward also posted four double-doubles on the season.

In 27 starts over two NBA assignments from the Thunder, Mullens averaged 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 31.5 minutes per contest. He compiled eight double-doubles during the season, and recorded season-highs of 26 points on March 19 at Idaho, and 17 rebounds against Utah on November 28.

The Tulsa 66ers, who were purchased by the Professional Basketball Club LLC on July 31, 2008, are the minor league affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are one of four teams in the NBA (Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs) who have an ownership agreement with their minor league affiliate.
