
Shakers Squad To Make Debut In 2010

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today the addition of a new promotional team called the Shakers Squad. The first annual tryout for the Shakers Squad will be held on Saturday, March 6 at the 24 Hour Fitness San Jose SuperSport at 1610 Crane Court in San Jose. Check-in time will begin promptly at 1:45 p.m. PT and tryouts begin at approximately 2:00 p.m.
The Shakers Squad will run promotions at games and nighttime events and make public appearances on behalf of the team. They will interact with fans at promotional events and at home games at Buck Shaw Stadium. Applicants should be outgoing, friendly, mature, photogenic, enthusiastic, reliable, strong communication skills and be a team player. The Earthquakes are looking for women with experience in promotional modeling, cheer, dance, or other performance experience.
Women interested in interviewing for a roster spot on March 6 with the Shakers Squad must:
* Be at least 18 years of age by March 1, 2010
* Wear athletic clothing, preferably dance shorts/yoga pants and a tank top
* Bring a head shot or a personal photo (non-returnable)
* Commit to one full season (March-November 2010)
* Complete the general application
* Have reliable transportation
Those interviewing for the Shakers Squad should come dressed and ready to meet the staff. There will be no facilities available to prepare for the tryout. Final selection will be listed on www.sjearthquakes.com on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
Women attending the tryouts should enter the 24 Hour Fitness San Jose SuperSport and check in at the front desk. The tryout will take place in the Group X room.
