Carolina Cobras News Release
GREENSBORO, NC - The Carolina Cobras announce the return of star defensive lineman Sha'Haun Williams who enters his third season with the Carolina Cobras.
Sha'Haun Williams (6'3, 279) had a successful 2023 campaign with the Cobras finishing second on the team in sacks with 9.5 and led the defensive line in tackles with 29 in the regular season. Williams played a key role in the Cobras turnover successful forcing teams to four and outs as well as recording two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown against the Jacksonville Sharks. The Cobras wrecking ball also punched in a rushing touchdown on offense last season. In 2022, Williams contributed as a rookie where he recorded 4.5 tackles during the Cobras 10-6 Championship run season.
Prior to the Cobras he played college football at Notre Dame College where he played on the defensive line and earned First Team All-MEC honors his senior year recording 10 sacks in 12 games.
"Glad to be back Coach is someone who goes above and beyond for his players and treats us like family, like were one of his own kids, I'll run through a brick wall for him." Stated defensive lineman Sha'Haun Williams.
"I absolutely love Sha'Haun Williams. Beyond our relationship off the field, I want to give him a true opportunity to lead our defensive line. I want him to lead in the locker room. I want him to lead with his play on the field. His character and who he is as a man embodies what someone who plays for me has to be. You can't play for me if I can't figure out who you are. I know who Sha'Haun is, and I'm privileged to coach the type of man, father and player he is."
