
Seven Stars Alumni to Play in Frozen Four

Lincoln, Neb. - Seven Stars alumni are set to play in the Frozen Four in Tampa, Florida beginning on Thursday, April 7.
The former Stars are listed below with their respective teams and seasons played in Lincoln
North Dakota: Chris Wilkie (2011-2012), Paul LaDue (2011-2013), Luke Johnson (2011-2013), John Simonson (2013-2014)
Denver: Brad Hawkinson (2011-2013)
Quinnipiac: Tommy Schutt (2011-2013), Luke Shiplo (2013-2014)
Boston College: None
-Lincoln began the NCAA Division 1 Men's Ice Hockey Championship Tournament with 13 alumni. The USHL had 242 former players in action.
-The Stars have the fourth-most alumni in the Frozen Four among USHL teams: Team USA (18), Dubuque (8), Waterloo (8), Lincoln (7)
-The Stars have three (3) of the 24 USHL alumni drafted by NHL teams participating in the Frozen Four. Luke Johnson (Chicago Blackhawks) Paul LaDue (Los Angeles Kings) and Chris Wilkie (Florida Panthers).
-57% of players in the Frozen Four have played in the USHL (62 total players).
-Four of the Stars alumni in the Frozen Four played in Lincoln during the 2012-2013 season
